Good afternoon,

I am trying to allocate 1 figure in 2 cells by percentage equaling the total - Example below & thank you!

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
I don't think your question is quite clear.
Instead of showing us the methodology, can you show us the exact data you start with (what values exactly are in what cells), and what your expected results should look like?
The math is easy, just multiplication and addition, so I am thinking there might be more to it than can be seen from your original post.

I am trying to split a figure into 2 different cells, for example:
I want to take $100.00 and split it by 19% in one cell and 81% into another cell without having to go into both cells with the following
Cell 1- $100.00*19%
Cell 2 -$100.00*81%

I am trying to get the following answers
Cell 1 - $19.00
Cell 2 - $81.00

I currently have the following set up using easier percentages:
Cell 1 - =$100.00 * 25%
Cell 1 answer = $25.00

Cell 2 - =Cell 1 * 3
Cell 2 answer = $75.00

Cell 1 + Cell 2 = $100.00

I hope that makes sense.

Sorry, I have been out of town for a few days.
Unfortunately, it still isn't clear.

Where exactly is this percentage located on the sheet?
Or are you saying that you will always have some formula which is:
some number * some percentage

And you want to derive from that formula, the result of the same number from that formula, and the rest of the percentage from that formula that adds up to 100%?

Hi Joe,

That is correct.

Thank you in advance.

OK, can you please provide all the EXACT details, i.e. exactly where this percentage and these formulas are located on your sheet?

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.
