Hello everyone,

Wondering if there is a solution in excel to help make things quicker and simpler.
Often times, I need to determine how many materials I need to make certain quantities of smaller items.
I would first have to find out the total material required and then the distribution.
Is there a way in Excel, both with just formulae (Solver?) or using VBA?
Including an illustration of what I need help with below.

Also, where do folks usually go to learn about all this?
Thank you so much everyone.
All the best.

It would be nice to be able to just enter the sizes and quantities I need, and it'll auto calcualte how many bars are required and the distribution.

Solution
Hi *m3ko and Welcome to the Board! Perhaps this link will help. Dave

Thanks so much for the link.
I really apologize - need to also be better at searching the forums as well.
Will go through your linked thread and give it a go. Could I leave this open until I have it working in the meantime? Not sure yet if this might be too complex for me.
Thank you again!
