Copying Excel graphs into word or Powerpoint docs

I use pivot tables to summarise a lot of my data, the graphs I make from these i have attempted to paste into reports in word/powerpoint. This results in a link between Excel and Word and on the last attempt a 200 meg word file which was unmanageable, any way of just copying it in without the link? I have tried paste special but on the version of 97 ive got it doesnt seem to allow it. Oh and Ive tried the ctrl prnt scrn options theses dont give me what I want either, any help would be gratefully received. Steven

Hi Steven,

I do a lot of copying of graphs into Powerpoint and Word from Excel, and I've found that the best way to do this if you don't want them linked is to use Paste Special and select Enhanced Metafile. This gives the best quality, and the graphics you paste are scaleable with no loss of quality, which is not true of a bitmap. I don't know why your version of Word 97 doesn't seem to allow Paste Special. Is it "grayed out?" I have done this a lot with 97, although have now upgraded to 2000, but don't remember ever having a problem. The only time it should be 'grayed out' is when it doesn't recognize that the clipboard has anything in it (you have to have done a copy of the chart in Excel).
