number formatting

I want cells containing negative numbers to display
those numbers in brackets.I have always used
the ,(comma) format to do this. Excel 2000 dosen't
give me the brackets though spreadsheets created in 97
and used in 2000 does! How can I display negative
numbers in brackets? Help would be appreciated
Thanks, H

I'm assuming that by brackets you mean parentheses. If so, go to FORMAT-CELLS, click NUMBER, and then choose either the 3rd or 4th option.

Hope this helps,

Russell
