limitations?

I have a fairly large spreadsheet application that I would prefer to orient horizontally. Is there a way to overcome the 255 column limit of Excel? I would like to get about 400 columns. I actually only need about 50 rows.

I have gurd by MS that developer can fix to 450 ish Columns, with patch, See MS homepage or ask about i know no more [NT]

How about transposing your data: you would have then 400 rows by 50 columns?

Good to have a chat.. transposing i thought ill never suggest that one again as i have an aweful spat over trying to get a poster to get to grips with the idea. Thas where i get all the stick over a few days, funny really. But your right transposing would be best i agree.
We / us Excel-lers i sometimes feel need to thinks which way to set our tables, im in the process of transposing as standard but it takes some getting used to as it looks different of cause.
MS do not have direct plans so im told expand but i have feelers out as i know that soon developers tools will allow this poss next office as an additional patch or seperate program. Ill post you soon as Microsoft let slip detail, i am in the right place with work.
Its lotus of cause that has billions of rows and columns.
BEST fix is to split over 2 or more sheets i guess.
