Locating the cell that contains a value

If I have a range of cells, how do I search the range for a specific figure/text and have excel tell me which cell it is in?

Use the MATCH worksheet function...
=MATCH("A",A1:A10,0) will return the index of
the nth cell that matches "A" or #N/A if "A"
isn't present in A1:A10.
